Little Dry Creek Brewery Wins Award at World Beer Cup®
Greenwood Village, Colorado •—Cherry Creek Brewery, formerly Little Dry Creek Brewery claimed the silver award at the 2023 World Beer Cup, a global beer competition that evaluates beers from around the world and recognizes the most outstanding brewers and their beers.
Awards were given in 103 beer-style categories during the World Beer Cup award ceremony on May 10, 2023, at the Music City Center in Nashville.
Out of 164 entries, Cherry Creek Brewery was awarded the silver award in the South German-Style Hefeweizen beer style category for its Flying W Hefeweizen. Our Flying W Hefeweizen has a rich banana nose with hints of clove, cardamon & spice. Medium bodied with a smooth, luscious finish, this Hefeweizen is the perfect breakfast beer, no matter what time of day.
“Coming from a background of competitive hefeweizen brewers, I was able to hone my skills by trial & error and listening every chance I had to my mentors. Since then, they have become one of my favorite styles to brew, due to the challenge in brewing them.
“When I was opening Cherry Creek Brewery, I knew that having a hefeweizen would be a great option for my flagship line-up, seeing as they are rare to find outside of the summer months,” said Ty Nash at Little Dry Creek Brewery.
World Beer Cup winners were selected by an international panel of 272 beer judges from 26 countries. Widely regarded as the “Olympics of Beer,” the 2023 World Beer Cup featured 10,213 entries from 2,376 breweries in 51 countries.
“The World Beer Cup brings together the finest brewers and beers from around the globe and celebrates creativity, craftsmanship, and passion for great beer," said Chris Williams, World Beer Cup competition director. “Receiving a World Beer Cup award is a testament to quality and innovation, and we commend this year’s winners for setting the bar higher than ever.”
Presented by the Brewers Association, the World Beer Cup is held annually to celebrate the art and science of brewing by recognizing outstanding achievement. For additional information, visit the World Beer Cup website.
